Shauna D. Karis 1980-2026

She was born June 26, 1980, in Youngstown, the only daughter of Melanie Beaver Karis and the late Stephen Karis. Shauna lived most of her life in Struthers, relocating to Boardman several years ago with her fiance, Derick Irwin.

Throughout her life, Shauna worked for various food establishments, most notably Crickets Bar & Grill for 20 years. Her dedication and loyalty remained through four ownership changes. Her resilience and adaptability, along with a strong work ethic, were just some of her strengths. Shauna’s humor, generosity and love for others forged many deep friendships that she cherished.

Shauna will be deeply missed by her fiance, Derick Irwin, who loved her dearly. She is also survived by her mother, Melanie; stepfather, Ron Mallory; brother, Christopher; her Aunt Jill and loving nephew, Brighton; her Uncle David, Uncle Dan and Aunt Tammy; various extended Karis family, especially cousin Cindy Fiscus; many close friends; and her furry rescue, Bruno.

Derick wishes to thank the staff of both St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and Oasis Rehabilitation for their care of Shauna.
