Nancy Jo Neff 1945-2026
CONCHO, Ariz. — Nancy Jo Neff, 79, died two days after Easter on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in Pinetop, Arizona, with her loving family by her side. She spent several weeks in the Flagstaff Medical Center.
Nancy was born on Callahan Road in Canfield, a seventh-generation Canfield resident, the daughter of Ed and Martha Neff.
She grew up with her three brothers, Ed, Bruce and Gary, on the farm on the bend in the road on U.S. Route 62, with horses, cows, chickens, cats and dogs, and many flower and vegetable gardens.
She rode with the Rhythm Riders, performed at the fair, was a Girl Scout and was in MYF.
She attended Mount Union College and graduated from Kent State University.
She first worked for Upward Bound for many years and founded Photo Canfield with her late husband, Chuck Krause.
Always adventurous, she moved to the Virgin Islands for several years. Upon moving to Miami, Florida, she became a Realtor and was most proud of her 40 years in that profession. After relocating to Arizona, she opened an adult care home, offering loving care to several patients, including her own parents.
Nancy was an original “hard-headed woman,” moving to her one-acre, high-desert, solar-powered ranch with chickens and her three dogs — Honey, Star and Bailey. She took great pleasure in participating in the community garden near her home.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Harris; grandchildren, Alex and Nick Harris; her only surviving brother, Bruce Neff, his wife, Clare and daughter, Helen, of Canfield; along with many nephews and nieces scattered across the country.
A memorial for friends and family is being planned over the Labor Day weekend in Canfield.
