Mary A. Wood 1931-2026

She was born Dec. 14, 1931, in Oil City, Pa., a daughter of the late Cecil and Corline Connor.

Mary Alice worked as a retail sales clerk for many years for the former Strouss’ Department Store, Macy’s and Century 21 Paints prior to retiring.

She is survived by five children: William Wood Jr. of Youngstown, Cynthia (Mike) Cicchillo of Concord, North Carolina, Gregory (Geannie) Wood of Huntersville, North Carolina, Bruce (Maria) Wood of Austintown and David Wood, also of Austintown. She also leaves behind a brother, John (Mary Anne) Connor of Titusville, Pa.; two sisters, Nancy Blasur of Oil City and Loretta Remus of Jackson, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Lisa (Paul) Stern and Robert (Bridgete) Cicchillo; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Wood Sr., who died Aug. 2, 1989, and several brothers and sisters.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no funeral services or calling hours.

Arrangements for Mrs. Wood are being provided by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.
