Margaret L. McKee 1946-2026

BOARDMAN — Margaret “Maggie” Louise McKee, 80, of Boardman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after a long illness, with her family by her side.

Born March 20,1946, in Perryopolis, Pa., the daughter of the late Myrtle and Michael Toth.

Maggie was known for her feisty spirit, quick wit and unfiltered honesty. She had a way of saying exactly what was on her mind, often with humor that caught people off guard and made those around her laugh.

She was most proud of her role as mother to her three daughters, Staci (Chris) Waters of Sacramento, Gina (Jim) Calpin of Boardman and Leah (Dave) Vestal of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tyler Calpin, Kelsey Calpin (Patrick Hagy), Katelyn Vestal and Zack Horn.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McKee, whom she married on Dec. 19, 1985, and her beloved dog, Runtz, whose loss she deeply felt.

After many years of service, she retired in 2006 as the secretary to the Boardman Township administrator.

In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening and painting; more recently, she found comfort in crocheting and watching true crime.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her daughter, Gina and son-in-law, Jim, for their devoted care over the years, and to Shepherd of the Valley for their compassionate care.

Private services will take place for the immediate family on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman.

There are no calling hours.
