June E. Jagunic 1951-2026
YOUNGSTOWN — June Ellen Jagunic, 74, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1951, June grew up in New Philadelphia, where she graduated high school, and went on to study at both Asbury College and Youngstown State University. Along the way, she married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Jagunic, now deceased.
June worked in several fields throughout her career, including event planning, fundraising and nursing home administration. Many will remember her as the author of newspaper columns in the Orange County Post-Sentinel and the Tribune Chronicle. She was also a published poet.
In her retirement years, June enjoyed traveling with family, mobile gaming and spending time with friends. She also adopted many elderly dogs and, to her family’s pride, gave them a loving home to live out their remaining days. Additionally, June served her community as a museum volunteer and through her involvement with the church.
June is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Dan) Jagunic; son, Michael (Allison) Jagunic; sister, Patricia Newland Lanzer; brother, Robert Page; and two grandchildren, Marilyn Neal and Daniel Jagunic.
In addition to her husband, June was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marian Page.
By June’s request, no services or viewing are scheduled. Her family is planning a celebration of life event in the near future.
