Joseph E. Poole 1960-2026

He was born on June 9, 1960, to William and Carol Davey Poole in Youngstown.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Joyner, Tennessee.

He retired from TN Associated Electric after 26 years and was an IBEW member through the local 270. He was a HAM radio operator for over 30 years (KD4TVO).

He was a 1978 graduate of Ursuline High School and a 1980 graduate from Kilgore Community College with an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. One of the things he loved most was helping coach high school football when his sons were on the team. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and all sports. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Carol Poole, and father-in-law, Morris Young.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 36 years, Bernadine Young Poole; three sons, J. Eugene Poole II and Melissa of Erlanger of Kentucky, Benjamin and Tara Poole of Wartburg, Tennessee, and Ryan and Kendall Poole of Cookeville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Levi, Isaiah, Hudson, Clara, Charlotte, Miles, Georgia and Caroline; mother-in-law, Patricia Summers Young of Joyner, Tennessee; his four wonderful siblings, Julie and Greg Cullifer of Sanford, North Carolina, Tom and Peggy Poole of Youngstown, Connie and Steve Zuiss of Wichita, Kansas and Jo Ann and Paul Root of Grandview, Texas; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Paul and Linda Young of Rockwood, Tennessee, Kesler and Jennifer Young of Joyner, Tennessee and Darlene and Leon Akin of Summerville, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Schubert Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m., with Brother Jason Lowe officiating.

Graveside will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Cemetery, Wartburg, Tennessee.
