Giuseppina Ricciardi 1939-2026

Lina was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Toro, Italy, a daughter of Nicola and Michalina Trumba Ricella.

She emigrated from Italy and settled in Campbell on April 19, 1963.

She had worked in her younger years at the Dutch House in downtown Youngstown and at Weatherbees. She also worked many years in catering at her church.

Lina was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Campbell. She was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild and assisted in running the kitchen for many parish festivals over the years at her church, the former St. Lucy Catholic Church in Campbell.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and would make whatever they wanted, especially Italian dishes. She took great pride in caring for her family.

In her younger years she enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

Her husband Nicolino Ricciardi, whom she married April 21, 1958, passed away March 5, 2023.

Lina is survived by her daughter, Antoinette Sferra of Austintown; her sons, Michael (Sheri) Ricciardi of Cleveland and Nick Ricciardi of Austintown; her five grandchildren, Rick Sferra, Julie (Ralph) Braun, and Alaina, Adriana and Gianna Ricciardi; her two great-grandchildren, Elsie Williams and Alexander Braun; as well as her brother, Antonio Ricella of Italy; and two nieces and many cousins whom she loved.

Lina was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The Ricciardi family has entrusted Lina’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, where family and friends may call 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026.

A prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Campbell, with the Rev. Thomas Kraszewski officiating.

Entombment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
