Gary H. Mayyou 1959-2026

A lifelong area resident, Gary was born Dec. 23, 1959, to George and Edith McCormick Mayyou.

He retired after a long career at Brentwood Originals.

Gary found his greatest joy in the simple moments spent with those he loved most, especially his grandchildren, who were the center of his world. He cherished time gathered around the table playing cards, where laughter and friendly competition were frequent. A devoted fan of NASCAR, Gary watched many races and took pleasure in following his favorite drivers. He also had a deep appreciation for classic music, often filling his home with familiar tunes that brought him comfort and joy.

Gary leaves to cherish his precious memory, his children, Michael Mayyou, Thomas Mayyou and Sarah Fisher; his life partner, Laverne Caya; his sister, Penny Court; his grandchildren, Brianna Frazier, Victor Williams, Meechie Williams, Abrianna McGee, Skylar McGee, Robert McGee, Delaine Livolsi, Mikey Mayyou Jr. and Abagail Mayyou; as well as his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Olivia, Adrian, Aniyah, Braylen, Luca, Kyori and Cyair.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Manser; and his brother, Raymond McCormick.

Family and friends of Gary may call 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Edward J. Fox and Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512, followed by a service starting at 6 p.m.

The family requests material tributes in Gary’s memory be made to the Toys for Tots Foundation, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.
