Timothy J. Kopcash 1939-2026
BOARDMAN — Timothy J. Kopcash, 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 5, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Tim was born Oct. 28, 1939, in Youngstown, the son of the late John W. and Mary Rivalsky Kopcash.
He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1957, and later served in the Army National Guard for several years.
Tim worked for the Youngstown Postal Service for more than 33 years. During his career, he held several management positions before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the National Association of Postal Supervisors (NAPS) Youngstown Branch #133, as well as NAPS Ohio State Branch #938 serving as the President for several years. He was an active member of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).
He was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish at St. Luke Church in Boardman, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector.
Tim also enjoyed playing Morra and was a member of the Youngstown Morra League.
Tim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, who truly cherished spending time with his family. He loved grilling for family and friends and was well known in his neighborhood as the “Grill Master.” Tim also had a wonderful sense of humor and was famous for his classic dad jokes.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, the former Mary E. Hamrock; his three children, Timothy Kopcash of Poland, Mary Grace Kralik of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Joseph (Kari Johnson) Kopcash of Concord, California; a grandson, Luke Kralik; as well as a niece and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his sister, Frances and her husband, Bob Gotti; and his brother, John and his wife, Dorothy.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with Fr. Edward Brienz officiating.
