Shirley was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Youngstown and was a proud graduate of South High School.
On July 30, 1966, Shirley married Eddie Blair Sr., and together, until parted by his passing, they built a life centered around love, family and commitment.
She dedicated more than 30 years of service to Assumption Village Nursing Home, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.
A woman of the faith, she was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She loved playing bingo, visiting the casino, couponing, shopping, listening to music and cheering on her favorite team as an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Shirley’s memory will forever be honored by her children, Lynette D. Blair and Eddie B. Blair, and bonus daughter, Paullet Jones. She was a loving grandmother to Kaylon D. Blair and Vaughn X. Blair. Her legacy will be sustained by her great-grandchildren, Kamaree, Kaliyah, Mason, Kaylon Jr., Mekhi, Major and Aria Blair. She leaves loving memories with her eldest sister, Mary Tyson; brother, Arthur Jones; and a cadre of family members and friends.
As Shirley crossed the celestial sands of time into eternity, she was reunited with her husband; parents, Bernice Jones and Henry Riley; and siblings Barbara Jones, Cynthia Jones, Beverly Jones, LaRee Iverson, Gail McQueen and William A. Jones III.
To honor Shirley’s life, there will be a 10 a.m. public viewing Thursday, March 12, 2026, in the chapel of the J. E. Washington Funeral Home, 2234 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown.
