She was born Dec. 28, 1939, in her grandmother’s home in Munday, W.Va., to the late Basil and Wanda Connelly Goodnight.

She lived in Massillon, where she married Tom Burnbrier in June 1967. They then moved to the Poland-Boardman area and spent 53 years together until his passing on April 7, 2020. Together, they had one son, David Burnbrier of Poland.

She had been a bookkeeper for Harter Bank and Bond Clothes in Canton. She was also a bookkeeper for Bert Toth of The Himrod Co. until she became a realtor in 1976 and a broker in 1986.

Sharon was past president of the Youngstown Women’s Realtors and past member of the Youngstown Jaycee’s Women’s Group, garden club and card clubs. She was a member of Boardman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed decorating, reading and Tom Selleck movies.

She leaves her daughter, Kathy (Scott) Brown of Florida; three sons, Timothy (Leane) Rohr of Pataskala, Thomas Rohr of Leetonia and David Burnbrier of Poland; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Ken Goodnight and Bob Goodnight, both of Massillon; as well as six nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; sister-in-law, Margaret Goodnight; infant brother, Benny Goodnight; very dear friends, Nancy Buonpane, Bobbie Baghurst and Jim Wilkeson; and many others.

At her request, there will be a family gathering at Poland Riverside Cemetery at a later date, where she will be joined with her husband Tom for all eternity.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s name to any charity of your choice.
