CANFIELD — Dr. Ronald Stephen Paloski, 80, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital after a brief illness.
Ron was born on Feb. 1, 1946, in Youngstown, the son of the late Stephen and Amelia Lilak Paloski.
A 1963 graduate of Struthers High School, he proudly completed basic training in the United States Marine Corps and was Honorably Discharged. Ron went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Youngstown State University.
He began his professional career with Goodyear in Akron, working in tire design. After several years in engineering, Ron felt called to medicine. He returned to school and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri.
Dr. Paloski dedicated more than 34 years to the practice of Osteopathic Medicine, beginning his medical career in 1976. He opened a family medical practice in Howland and had an additional office in Austintown for several years. “Doc” made his rounds at Warren General Hospital and faithfully served his patients for many years, before retiring in 2010.
He was a proud member of the American Osteopathic Association and generously gave his time as the Howland High School football team physician for a few seasons.
Ron was a devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish at St. Christine Church in Youngstown.
Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his free time, Ron enjoyed golfing with family and friends, driving around town in his 1932 Ford, fixing things around the house and creating lasting memories with those he loved most. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Guardians fan. Ron loved to read the newspaper and solve the daily puzzles.
