POLAND — Ronald F. Slipkasky Jr., 56, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026.
Ronald was born March 9, 1969, in Youngstown.
Ron was a 1987 graduate of Boardman High School and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Youngstown State University.
He had a lengthy, successful career with AVI Food Systems in Warren, where he worked for 30-plus years.
When he wasn’t doing the day job, he was devoted to his other passion … Ron was a longtime volleyball coach and former player. He was head coach at both the varsity and JV levels for seven different high schools throughout the Valley, introducing the sport to some in their infancy programs. He also coached traveling teams, winning numerous tournaments across the country, including in the last four years with the Mahoning Valley Premier (MVP) Club. Before that, he played for Team USA traveling teams, as well as two-player and six-player beach and indoor teams. He taught girls the fundamentals of the game, to be accountable, to work hard, to embrace teamwork and to enjoy the game.
Ron is survived by his mother, Linda Rudibaugh Slipkasky of Poland; sister, Amy (Michael) Rinaldi of Poland; nephew, Angelo Rinaldi; aunt, Lorraine Smith of Wooster; and uncle, John (Sue) Rudibaugh of Westerville.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ronald F. Slipkasky Sr.
Family and friends may pay their respects 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
