Richard A. Natoli 1943-2026

YOUNGSTOWN – Richard A. “Dick” Natoli, 82, passed away peacefully at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Dick was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Warren, the son of Joseph and Angeline Muccio Natoli.

A proud graduate of Niles McKinley High School, Class of 1961, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio University.

Dick dedicated 39 years of his professional career to General Motors, Packard Electric, where he worked as a process engineer and held three patents for innovations in machine design. Dick was known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail and passion for engineering.

A man of deep faith and community involvement, Dick was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He was also a member of the Professional Engineers, volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, and was active in the Trout Unlimited Fishing Club.

He enjoyed spending time in his neighborhood golf league and served on the Park Place Board of Directors. Dick was an avid car enthusiast and a devoted Cleveland sports fan. Dick found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially trout fishing, golfing, woodworking and carpentry. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Melillo Natoli, whom he married Jan. 14, 1967; his son, Joseph Natoli and his wife Eli of Clarksburg, Maryland; his daughter, Jennifer Hendrickson and her husband Scott of Youngstown; his sister, Jolene Natoli of Florida; his brother-in-law, Jim Shaftic; his sister-in-law, Jan Natoli; five grandchildren, Angelina, Olivia, Julianna, Sabah and Sophia; and two great-grandchildren, Karmello and Kreed.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Dominick and Samuel Natoli; and a sister, Marilyn Shaftic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.
