Michele Hull 1956-2026
BOARDMAN — Michele A. “Shelly” Hull, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, at her home following a short illness.
Shelly was born Jan. 31, 1956, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Albert F. Kovach and Frances A. Burnett Rigby.
She was a 1974 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and continued her education at MCCTC, where she studied medical assisting and graduated with honors.
Shelly dedicated her career to caring for others, working at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was deeply passionate about her work and was known for her kindness and compassion toward patients and colleagues alike.
She was actively involved in various health education programs throughout the community and was an avid supporter and volunteer of the Panerathon.
Shelly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother — affectionately known as “GaGa” — sister and godmother. She cherished every moment spent at her family’s campsite and found great joy in boating with her sons, relatives and friends. A devoted sports fan, she loved cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers and treasured the many games she attended with loved ones. In her quieter moments, Shelly enjoyed relaxing with her favorite television shows and movies on the Hallmark and Lifetime networks.
Shelly is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary E. Hull, whom she married Sept. 21, 1985; her two sons, Brandon (Cindy) Hull of Struthers and Brian (Lauren) Hull of Boardman; three grandchildren, Isabella, Adelina and Lucas Hull; two brothers, Albert (Michele) Kovach of Poland and Michael (Colette) Kovach of Canfield; her sister, Karen (Robert) McGivern of Boardman; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call 4 to 5:45 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. A funeral service celebrating Shelly’s life will follow at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Kidd officiating. Interment will take place in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
