MENTOR -- It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Belcik, 92, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, surrounded by her family at Reserve Care hospice in Cleveland.
Margaret was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Youngstown. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Rigelsky Deley and was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area.
Margaret was a 1951 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and then worked for Ohio Bell for five years following graduation.
Margaret married the love of her life, Michael J. Belcik, on July 7, 1956, at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Together, they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage.
Margaret and Michael had a passion for polka music and enjoyed attending dances with friends in the community. Marge cherished her role as a mother and homemaker, and she took great pride in her Catholic faith and Slovak heritage. Many people enjoyed her apple pies, clothespin cookies and kolachi.
She was a devoted member of St. Dominic Church, where she was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society and volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Society local soup kitchen. Margaret attended Mass daily and said the Rosary several times throughout the day.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her as "Baba."
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Michael A. (Doreen) Belcik of Wooster, Mary Jo (John) Joyce of Mentor, Maureen (Christopher) Tesone of Poland and Mark (Martha) Belcik of Loveland; her 11 grandchildren, Brian (Melanie), Jeffrey (Danielle), Eric, Jessica (Zach), Patrick, John, Nora (Mirria), Meredith (Ben), Matthew (Alanna), Jacob (Katie) and Claire; and as well as four great-grandchildren, Jack, Emma, Layla and Millie, all of whom brought her great joy.
In addition to her parents and spouse, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Deley, Peter Deley and John Deley.
Family and friends may call 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Fox Funeral Home,
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, celebrated by the Rev. Charles Rooney.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The Belcik family requests that material contributions be made in Margaret's memory to St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, OH 44507.
