BERLIN CENTER -- Kathleen Louise Brown Wood, 72, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 10, 1953, in Struthers, to the late Robert and Marjorie James Brown.
She first began her career as a beautician after attending the Louis Weinberger School of Beauty, a field that allowed her to connect with people and brighten their day in simple but meaningful ways.
Later in life, she decided to return to school at Youngstown State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in social work. It was a natural extension of who she was -- someone who cared deeply about others and was always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear.
At the center of her life was her family. They were her greatest joy and so much of what she did revolved around them. Her warmth, generosity and love for those around her were at the heart of the life she built and the memories she leaves behind.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Joshua Wood of Hilton Head, South Carolina; Zachary (Michelle) Wood of Atlanta, Georgia; Meghan (Jason) Roberts of Berlin Center; and Aaron (Nicole) Wood of Bluffton, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Noah, Ty, Ayla, Evie, Adler, Colton and Harper; her sibling, Jim (Sharon) Brown of Phoenix, Arizona; and a lifetime of friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marjorie James Brown of Struthers, and her sister, Barbara Brown Conrad of Medina.
Friends and family will be received 10 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at New Springfield Church of God, followed by a memorial celebration of her life beginning at noon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Visit www.beckerobits.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
