Karen A. Timlin 1958-2026
AUSTINTOWN — Karen Ann Timlin, 67, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after complications of Crohn’s disease.
Karen was a kind and welcoming soul with a generous heart, known for her positive outlook and encouraging words. A talented artist throughout her life, she carried her creativity into everything she did. A woman of deep faith, she drew strength and comfort from her relationship with God and her parish community at St. Christine’s. Above all, Karen was a devoted wife, mother and Nonni.
She is survived by her sons, Owen (Kathryn) Timlin of Solon and Neal Timlin of Youngstown, and by her cherished granddaughters, Josephine, Amelia and Valerie Timlin, who were the light of her life. She delighted in spoiling them and sharing laughter and joy in every moment together.
Karen is also survived by her sister, Nancy (Brian) Bizzarri-Alleman; her uncle, Ronald (Judy) Bizzarri; her cousin, Marlene Bizzarri; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Diana) Timlin, Kate (Bob) Timlin-Weily, Mike (Fran) Timlin and Maureen (Vito) Donofrio; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends who held a special place in her heart.
Born Sept. 20, 1958, in Youngstown, Karen was the beloved daughter of Anthony and Mary Clacko Bizzarri. She shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Patrick Timlin, whose love remained the cornerstone of her life. Her family finds comfort in their certain joyful reunion.
Karen graduated from Chaney High School in 1976, where she earned a scholarship to the Art Students League of New York in recognition of her extraordinary artistic talent. For the past 12 years, she worked as a visitor services representative at the Tyler History Center, where she enjoyed welcoming visitors and sharing the history of Youngstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; her parents, Anthony and Mary Bizzarri; her in-laws, Martin and Elizabeth Timlin; her uncle, Robert Bizzarri; and her beloved dogs, Andy and Tyrone.
Karen cherished music, art and antiquing with her son, Neal; sharing jokes and laughter with her son, Owen; and daily conversations with her sister, Nancy. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, resilience and the joy and encouragement she gave to all around her. Her legacy lives on in her sons, granddaughters and everyone whose life she brightened.
A memorial Mass and celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date.
