June A. Drennen 1942-2026

CANFIELD — June Ann Drennen, 83, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at Windsor House in Canfield.

June was born June 18, 1942, in Youngstown, the daughter of Lee Ellis and Virginia Elizabeth Keith Fiscus.

On April 24, 1965, June married the love of her life, Richard A. Drennen. The two shared 60 beautiful years of marriage until Richard’s passing on Dec. 17, 2025.

June dedicated her life to education and to the care of others. She worked for many years as a teacher and later as a principal, touching the lives of countless students and families throughout the Mahoning Valley. She taught at Liberty High School and St. Mary’s Middle School in Warren. She later served as principal at St. Edward’s K-8 in Youngstown and John F. Kennedy High School in Warren, where she was known for her strong leadership, compassion and commitment to her students and staff.

Faith was an important part of June’s life. She served as a Eucharistic minister and was also involved in premarital counseling, helping guide couples as they began their married lives together.

Outside of her professional and church life, June enjoyed many simple pleasures. She loved playing duplicate bridge and mah-jongg, traveling to Ocean City and stopping for her favorite McDonald’s sweet tea. She also had a special love for animals, especially her beloved dogs Emmy, Pita and Chewy, and DaVinci, Katie’s horse.

Left to cherish June’s memory are her loving sons, Paul (Beth) Drennen of Canfield and Alan (Katie) Drennen of Northfield; and her granddaughter, Skylar, who brought her great joy. Also surviving is her sister, Virginia.
