Irene J. Pelic 1951-2026
YOUNGSTOWN — Irene Jean Pelic, 75, who was born Jan. 22, 1951, to Patrina Tallerino Pelic and Paul Pelic, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Irene graduated from Ursuline High School in 1969 after paying her own tuition by working at Belleria Pizza and later in the Sacred Heart kitchen. After high school, she began her career on the line and progressed to the labor gang at Packard Electric.
She retired in 2001 after 30 years and chose to remain in the local area to care for her aging mother and work part time at the Purple Cat as a caretaker for individuals with disabilities.
Irene was a daughter, sister, aunt, friend and godmother. She had a kind, quiet heart, was fiercely loyal to her family and was a lover of all animals. She enjoyed getting dressed up and cutting loose on the dance floor, playing golf, riding motor bikes, landscaping, attending festivals, watching football and collecting movies and books. She will be missed dearly by her close friends and large extended family.
She is survived by her siblings, George (Nancy) Pelic, Connie (Toby) Connelly, Mary Ann (Jack) Cochran, Judy Beck and Elizabeth Greathouse.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Agee; and parents, Paul, Patrina and William Agee, who raised her after Paul passed away.
Friends will be received 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Lake Park Cemetery.
