Ellen L. Knowles 1945-2026

She was born Nov. 20, 1945, in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor Vowie Fitzgerald.

Ellen was a 1963 graduate of Parma Senior High School and worked as a secretary for the R.G. Smith Company in Canton for several years, retiring in 2008.

She married Robert D. Knowles on May 28, 1966. Together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage and many happy memories. He survives her.

Ellen was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Canfield. She was a kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her husband, Ellen is survived by two children, Michael (Kelly) Knowles of San Diego, California, and Allison (Kevin) Lloyd of Canfield; a sister, Carol (Jerry) Bradnan of Columbia Station; and four grandchildren, Haley, Timothy and Bridget Knowles, and Conner Lloyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by brother, Edward Fitzgerald.

A memorial Mass will be held for Ellen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 300 N. Broad St., Canfield.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel, 65 N. Broad St., Canfield.

She will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
