Diane Buchanan 1944-2026

POLAND — Diane Buchanan, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Woodlands at Hampton Woods in Poland.

Diane was born May 5, 1944, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Clair and Betty Loree Buchanan. She graduated from South High School in 1963 and remained a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley.

Diane began her career as an administrative assistant at Southside Hospital in Youngstown, where she worked for over 19 years.

She was a devoted mother and sister who cherished time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughters, Ella and Elise. Diane was a member of New Life Church in Poland, where she volunteered at the church food pantry and participated in various church activities. Her faith and her church were very important to her, and New Life Church was truly a second home. She never hesitated to share her faith and all that the Lord had done in her life.

She was kind and easy to talk to. She also enjoyed playing cards and was previously a member of a card club. In her free time, Diane was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.

Diane is survived by her son, Shawn (Renee) Buchanan of Florida; her two granddaughters, Ella and Elise Buchanan; her sister, Carol DiRocco of New Middletown; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Srock, and Beverly Aaron and her husband, Mark; as well as her brother-in-law, Peter DiRocco.
