John M. Bolchalk 1937-2026
HOWLAND — John M. Bolchalk, age 88, of Howland Township, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 19, 2026, surrounded by his family, at home.
John was born April 26 1937, in Hubbard, a son of Steve and Theresa Krechnyak Bolchalk.
He was a 1955 graduate of Hubbard High School.
John was a steel worker at LTV Cleveland and at the time of his retirement, was a supervisor.
He was a member of the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department. John was a Mason and of Catholic faith.
His wife, the former Patricia H. Hines, whom he married May 4, 1957, passed away Sept. 23, 2023.
He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his daughters, Barbara Pompili of Hubbard, Nancy (John) Marhulik of Niles, Beth Bolchalk (Terry Anders) of Hudson and Jody (William) Lansinger of Kent; 10 grandchildren: Edward (Lisa) Pompili, Krista (Gregory) Johnston, Steve (Kerri) Pompili, John (Heather) Marhulik, Katherine (Calib) Willis, Allison (Andrew) Wolfson, Benjamin (Emy-Lynn) Marhulik, William (Jessica) Lansinger, Shawn (Courtney) Lansinger and Nicholas Lansinger; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Mary Bolchalk; and brothers, Robert and Thomas.
Private services were held.
John was laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hermitage, Pa.
