Timothy Howley 1954-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Timothy Howley, 71, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, with hospice care at Aventura at Assumption Village in North Lima, with his family at his side.

He was born Feb. 23, 1954, in Youngstown, the son of the late Edward W. and Helen Theresa Kazik Howley, and was a lifelong area resident.

He attended St. Patrick Elementary School in Youngstown and went on to graduate from Cardinal Mooney High School, Class of 1972.

For the past 29 years, he was employed by the Diocese of Youngstown as a custodian at St. Edward Church.

A man of few words, he had a very generous heart and was always there for his family and friends.

In his spare time, Tim enjoyed cooking, gardening, casino games and the fishing trips he took with his friends.

Tim will be greatly missed by his brother, Daniel (Diana) Howley of Poland; his sister, Loretta Moore of Canfield; his longtime companion, Susan Green; and nieces, Gail (Jim) Guerrier and Kelly Howley, both of Austintown; and his nephew, Jason Lipinski of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean Gaul; three nephews, David, Mark and James Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Richard Moore.

The family has requested material donations can be made to St. Edward’s food pantry in memory of Tim.

A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown, OH 44504.
