Ruth A. Blevins 1951-2026

She was born May 7, 1951, in Salem, a daughter of Wayne and Doris Lance Weingart.

Ruth was a 1969 graduate of Western Reserve High School and received her RN degree from Akron City School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for the former Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren for 24 years, retiring in 2000.

She was a lifelong member of Ellsworth Community Church, where she also served as the parish nurse for many years, along with being a member of the King’s Daughters. Ruth was also a longtime poll worker for the Mahoning County Board of Elections in Ellsworth Township and served as a hostess at the arts and crafts building at the Canfield Fair for many years.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 49 years, Richard G. Blevins; sons, Brian (Melissa) of Ellsworth and David (Alissa) of Columbiana; a daughter-in-law, Christine of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Hannah, Zoie (Jordon) Kalina, Sydney, Blaze, Adelaide and Emmeline; and great-grandchildren, Annalise and Isabella Kalina.

Ruth also leaves behind her sister, Nellie Drevna of Canfield; and brother, Ray (Linda) Weingart of Leesburg, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark; and a grandson, Wyatt.

The Blevins family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at the Ellsworth Community Church, 11171 W. Akron-Canfield Road, North Jackson, OH 44451.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at the church, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, Ruth’s family requests donations be made to the Ellsworth Community Church Memorial Fund.
