Ronald G. Jandrokovic 1940-2026

CANFIELD — Ronald G. Jandrokovic, 86, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday evening, Feb. 17, 2026.

Ron was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Youngstown, the son of the late George and Cecilia Korody Jandrokovic.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Wilson High School.

Ron dedicated much of his career to the steel industry. He worked as a shipping foreman at Sawhill Tubular in Wheatland, Pa., for over 15 years, and previously was employed at J&L Steel and Republic Steel. After retiring from the steel mill, Ron continued to stay active, working part time at the Ethan Allen furniture store, where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Wonderful.”

Ron had a deep love for boating and was a proud member of the Ashtabula Harbor Yacht Club for more than 25 years. He looked forward each year to wintering in Florida with his wife, Joan, where he especially enjoyed his daily walks. He was also a lover of music and enjoyed attending music in the park events. Gifted with many practical talents, Ron could fix or build just about anything — from electrical work, carpentry and plumbing to auto repair and painting. He was always ready to lend a hand, helping friends and family solve problems and teaching his loved ones the importance of always being there when needed.

Ron’s beloved wife of 65 years, the former Joan B. Hoffman, whom he married Oct. 23, 1959, preceded him in death April 16, 2024.

Left to cherish Ron’s memory are his daughter, Julie Cheslik of Canfield; his son, Ronald W. Jandrokovic of Streetsboro; three grandsons, Dr. Thomas G. (Christie) Cheslik, Timothy R. (Kayla) Cheslik and Ryan J. Cheslik; four great-grandchildren, Mia, Cecilia, Lena Joan and Isabel; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Ron also leaves a brother, John “Jack” Jandrokovic of Fairport, New York.

Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at Lane Funeral Home, and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Chahine and the entire staff of the Blood and Cancer Center of Canfield for their remarkable care and kindness.

To honor Ronald’s legacy of compassion, the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, www.t2t.org, in memory of Ronald Jandrokovic.
