BOARDMAN — Marilyn Dianne Ramsay-Mechling, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn, known to family and friends as “Dianne,” was born March 30, 1951, in Bellaire, a daughter of the late Chalmer Orville and Marilyn McMillan Ramsay.

She was a 1969 graduate of Shadyside High School and later attended Ohio University.

Dianne’s interests were many, spanning gardening, antiques and books. Friends and associates will fondly remember her from her employment at B. Dalton Books and Chi-Chi’s Restaurant in Niles, Bank One’s mortgage department in downtown Youngstown and Twice Loved Books, also in Youngstown. She also operated a booth at Auntie’s Antiques Mall in Parkman and proudly owned and operated her business, Antique Alley, on Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown for several years. Additionally, she worked as a sales clerk at Dillard’s in Southern Park Mall for several years before retiring in 2012.

Dianne generously volunteered at ReStore on Youngstown-Poland Road in Struthers, always offering her expertise and assistance whenever she saw an opportunity to help. All who knew her claimed her as a friend.

She was a member of the Society for the Preservation of Old Mills (SPOOM) and loved being outdoors, especially tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.

Dianne was a devoted wife, sister and friend to all. She will be deeply missed for her kind and generous soul.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Thomas J. Mechling, whom she married April 25, 2001; her brother, Richard Ramsay of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and her best friend of over 40 years, Mary Ann Bromley of Howland.

Friends and family may call 4 to 5:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m., celebrating Dianne’s life, with Mary Ann Bromley officiating.
