Kathleen Colleen Daniel 1933-2026
PORT TALBOT, South Wales — Kathleen Colleen Daniel, 92, beloved mother to four children, of Port Talbot, Wales, UK, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Margam, Wales, UK, in 1933, to Kathleen and David Taylor, and was the apple of her father’s eye. Colleen attended St. Joseph’s Elementary in Port Talbot, Wales, UK, before attending Catholic high school at Ursuline in Youngstown. She attended Youngstown State University and also taught English in their CETA program. Following this, she worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital Home Care Services.
Colleen was a devoted mother to Katrina, Mary Lou, Mark and Justine; her children were her pride and joy. She loved being a mother and they felt that in the love and support she provided.
Colleen took special joy in her children’s academic and athletic achievements and had fond memories of her children’s rugby, track, soccer, dance and art events.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers, Terry and Dadie.
She is survived by her four children and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
They are Katrina and Dennis Stoneman, whose children are Kyle, Kelsey (Corra) Dirksen (Ronan, Killian and Moira) and Mariah; Mary Lou and Jon Sprague, whose children are Nicole (Paul) Sameit (Breanna and Blythe), Monique (Chris) Prato (Drew and Marley) and Gavin; Mark Daniel, whose children are Evan (Sarah) Daniel, Rory, Morgan and Joseph; Justine and Neil Yeargin, whose children are Shea, Liam and Keely. They will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
A Requiem Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Port Talbot, Wales, UK, followed by interment in Goytre Cemetery at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Christine Catholic Church, Youngstown, at a date to be determined.
