John C. Miller Jr. 1963-2025

NEW SPRINGFIELD — John C. Miller Jr., 62, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, following a long battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 21, 1963, in Youngstown, the son of John and Carole Burroughs Miller.

John was a graduate of Springfield Local High School and attended ETI College.

John began his career in the baking industry, working for the Italian Baking Company, Kravitz Bagels and other bakeries over the years. In 1992, he and his brother Stephen co-founded Alexander’s Pest Control. John served as vice president of the company for more than 28 years until its sale.

John attended New Life Church and had a giving heart — one that God used to meet the needs of others. He was always willing to help those in need and sought opportunities to bless others and support organizations. His kindness touched many lives during both difficult and joyful times.

John is survived by his parents, John and Carole Miller; two sisters, Linda of New Middletown and Deborah of Girard; and a brother, Stephen of Laguna Niguel, California.

John was never married, but to his nieces and nephews he will always be Uncle John. Uncle John will be deeply missed by his three nieces, seven nephews, seven great-nieces, four great-nephews, four great-great-nieces and three great-great-nephews. He loved and adored his nieces and nephews and was so proud of all of them.

John was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Miller.

The family will be having a celebration of life for John at a later date.
