James D. Crissman 1965-2026
STRUTHERS — With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James “Jim” Duane Crissman on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at the age of 60.
Jim was born Sept. 13, 1965, in Ellwood City, Pa., and was raised in Youngstown. He lived a life marked by strength, integrity and unwavering devotion to his family.
After being diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, Jim fought with remarkable courage and steadfast faith.
He was the beloved son of Sandra Crissman and the late James Crissman.
Jim was a graduate of Youngstown Christian High School and dedicated 18 years of service to Spectrum as a network technician.
Long before his time at Spectrum, Jim worked at Wendy’s, where he met and fell in love with
Linda Resch Crissman. They married on Oct. 1, 1988.
Jim was deeply loved by all who knew him. He was the kind of man who showed up, never gave up and always did the right thing. His moral compass was steady and his commitment to his faith was unshakable.
Also known by his family as “Gampy,” he was quick-witted and loved making others laugh. A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, black and gold ran deep in his soul.
He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, faithfully attending football games, soccer games and birthday parties.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda Resch Crissman; his children, Gregory Crissman (Logan,Jackson and Cheyenne), Joshua Crissman (Evan) and Ashley Crissman (Mason); his mother, Sandra Crissman; his sister, Rebecca Crissman Backus and her husband, Doug Backus; and his sister-in-law, Lora Resch-McNutt and her husband, David McNutt.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Crissman.
A memorial service will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.
In honor of Jim’s lifelong love for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the family invites those attending the service to wear black and gold.
