Carol Ann Danus 1948-2026
AUSTINTOWN — Carol Ann Danus, 77, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at her home.
She was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Youngstown, the only daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Baker Danus. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.
She lived her life with a quiet strength, valuing her independence and keeping much of her world simple and private. Naturally inquisitive — especially when it came to health — she wanted to understand multiple sclerosis not only for her own journey, but also so she could be a source of support and encouragement for others facing the same challenges. Helping others gave her purpose, and she carried that mission close to her heart.
Her dedication was reflected in her involvement with Gateways to Better Living and her leadership within the Multiple Sclerosis Service Agency of North Lima, where she served as both president and a board member. She was passionate about advocacy and connection, forming lasting friendships with many who shared in the MS journey. These relationships meant a great deal to her, as they were built on understanding, compassion and mutual strength.
At home, she was happiest in the company of her cats — three beloved companions, especially her cherished Susie. They brought warmth and comfort to her days. Through her kindness, service and steadfast spirit, she touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of caring, resilience and quiet grace.
Carol is survived by her aunt, Patricia Baker, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no calling hours or services held at this time. A memorial celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
