Beverly A. Perri 1946-2026

COLUMBUS — Beverly Ann Perri was 79 when she passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, in Columbus, where she resided for the past eight-and-half years.

Beverly was born Aug. 6, 1946, in Youngstown, to her parents, Chester and Concetta Hlasta, but was raised by her father, Chester, and stepmother, Angeline Hlasta.

Beverly attended Youngstown State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education.

She met her husband, Kenneth Perri, at Youngstown State University and married on June 20, 1970. After getting married, they relocated to Virginia, where they raised their family.

Beverly earned her master’s degree in education from George Mason University.

After teaching for several years in Maryland, she stayed at home for 10 years raising their kids and running a day care before returning to her teaching career.

Beverly taught in Prince Georges County, Maryland but spent the majority of her teaching career at Fox Mill Elementary School in Fairfax County, Virginia. Her love of her school inspired her impressive collection of foxes.

Beverly’s greatest joy was her family, including her children, Kristi, Kimberly and Mark, and grandchildren, Hailey, Zack, Kasey and Kenna.

She was an amazing cook and baker and loved hosting friends and family events. Her favorite were the Easter celebrations that would bring family in from all over.

Beverly’s favorite pastime was cruising! Her first cruise was in March 1999, and she took more than 80 different cruises with many friends and family members. She loved traveling all over the world and cruised in so many places, including the Caribbean, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, New England, Mexico and many others.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Concetta Hlasta; father, Chester Hlasta; stepmother, Angeline Hlasta; husband, Kenneth Perri; brother, Chester Hlasta; daughter-in-law, Michelle Perri; and sister-in-law, Linda Hlasta.

Bev is survived by her children and grandchildren; brother, Dennis Hlasta; sister-in-law, Mary Hlasta; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at Schiavone Funeral Home in Youngstown. Calling hours will be 1 to 2 p.m., with services immediately after.
