Vita Mraulak 1934-2026

STRUTHERS — Vita Mraulak, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at Hospice of the Valley-Hospice House.

Born June 17, 1934, in Youngstown, Vita was the daughter of the late Vito and Susie Pagley DiTommaso. She was a proud graduate of North High School.

On Sept. 25, 1954, Vita married the love of her life, Peter G. Mraulak. Together, they shared 65 beautiful years of marriage until Pete’s passing in 2020. Their life together was filled with love, laughter and devotion to family.

Vita worked for several years as a library aide for the Struthers City School District, where she greeted each student with a bright, friendly smile. Outside of work, she enjoyed bowling in league with Pete, shopping and finding the best deals, and — most of all — spending time with her family.

Vita’s family was at the center of her world. She cherished hosting big Sunday dinners and was well known for her homemade wedding soup and lasagna. She proudly hosted Christmas Eve gatherings for the DiTommaso family, creating traditions and memories that will be treasured for generations. Vita and Pete also enjoyed traveling with their dear friends, Emily and Bill, visiting various destinations and sharing many special moments together.

Vita leaves behind her loving children: two daughters, Vicki (Rick) Rinko of Girard and Linda (Jim) Mazzocco of Struthers; and two sons, Pete S. Mraulak and Tony (Renee) Mraulak, both of Struthers. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ricky and Ryan Rinko, Anthony Mazzocco, and Steven and Matthew Mraulak; and one great-grandson, Joshua Rinko.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vita was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Carfangia, Anne Serafino, Irene Consiglio, Steve DiTommaso and her infant son, Christopher.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, OH 44514.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 764 Fifth St., Struthers, OH 44471.

Vita will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
