Sandra L. Giardullo 1943-2026

She was born March 7, 1943, in Youngstown, a daughter of Anthony and Margaret Pierce Spotts.

Sandy was a 1961 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and worked as an educational aide for the Youngstown City Schools for more than 20 years prior to retiring in 2000.

She married her high school sweetheart, Richard R. Giardullo, on Jan. 17, 1964. Together they shared 41 years of marriage and many happy memories. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2005.

Sandy was a member of the Youngstown Saxon Club and the World Wildlife Fund. She also volunteered her time for more than 10 years with the Carl Nunziato Youngstown VA Clinic. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and Las Vegas. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and was an avid Cleveland Guardians baseball fan.

She is survived by her son, David T. Giardullo of Greensboro, North Carolina. She also leaves behind a sister, Linda (Edward) Czopur of Canfield; four grandchildren, Nicholas Giardullo, Jessica (Michael) Wynn, and Jennifer and Jordan Giardullo; her daughter-in-law, Christine Giardullo-Filip; and her loving companion, Steve Zatchok of Youngstown.

Besides her husband, Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Richard Giardullo II.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave.

Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Sandy will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
