Robert J. Horvath 1948-2026
VIENNA — Robert J. Horvath, age 77, of Vienna, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at the Hospice House in Poland.
Robert was born May 29, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of Eugene and Anne Sveth Horvath.
He was a 1966 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, attended YSU for one year and attended Pittsburgh Art School for two years.
Robert was a tow motor driver at General Motors Lordstown for 30 years, retiring in 2004.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War in Central Highlands from April 18, 1968, to March 28, 1970.
Robert enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Guardians “Indians.” He also enjoyed a variety of music and was an avid reader.
He was a “believer in Jesus Christ” and a faithful servant of God. He continually renewed his faith by reading and studying the Bible.
Robert was an honest man and a good and loving husband. He humbled himself before the Lord, neither boastful or proud.
He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his wife, the former Susan Nicosia, whom he married July 9, 1983; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Geri Horvath; brother-in-law, Michael Nicosia; sister-in-law, Carol DiFabio; niece, Jessica Bok; and nephews, Michael (Shelia) Nicosia, Nicholas (Nicole) DiFabio, Roman (Rhonda) Horvath and Craig (Sherry) Horvath.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be services held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, with calling hours prior to the service, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Kyle Funeral Homes, Vienna Chapel, 4471 Warren-Sharon Road Vienna, OH 44473.
