Nancy Jane Kerr 1931-2026
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Nancy Jane Kerr, 94, who found eternal peace in God’s arms on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Presbyterian Hospital.
She was born March 2, 1931, in New Castle, Pa., to the late William R. McKinley and Helen S. Vance McKinley.
She married Richard E. Kerr Sr. on Jan. 8, 1951, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul V. McKinley; a sister, Shirley June McKinley; a son, Richard E. Kerr Jr.; and a grandson, Charles H. Eichenlaub IV.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Kerr of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Sharon (Vince) Richardson of Youngstown and Diane (Mark) Duda of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Nancy graduated from Mount Jackson High School.
She was a member of Poland Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon.
Her remarkable work ethic began at age 12 with a paper route, with her little dog Pepper riding in the basket. It continued through roles like operating an elevator at a young age, which she really loved; working at New Castle Dry Goods, Bell Telephone and Sears; hotel management alongside her husband; and finally a role at Huntington Bank, from which she retired at age 82.
Nancy’s passions were many: she loved sewing, bowling, dancing, reading, visiting casinos, watching football, playing the piano and especially baking — her tarts, incredible pies, pineapple-apple dessert and apple dumplings are family treasures. Her beautiful flower gardens were a source of pride and her fierce competitive spirit emerged during family card games that often lasted into the early morning hours.
Above all, Nancy cherished time spent with her family. Her laughter, knowledge and wisdom, and definitely her fashion will be missed by all she touched.
We love you, Mom, Gram, Grammy, Grandma and Grams Bear!
Per Nancy’s wishes, there will be no services.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
