Mary Lou Bobic 1932-2026

STRUTHERS — Mary Lou Gavalier Bobic, 93, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.

She was born on July 31, 1932, in Struthers, daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Gavalier.

She was a member of Christ Community Church in Campbell.

Mary Lou worked at Mories Department Store and Haber’s Furniture Store.

Mary Lou enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and crocheting. Her husband, Emery, played with the Penn-Ohio Polka Pals, and she liked going to listen to their music.

Mary Lou is survived by her son, Michael (Linda) Bobic; daughter-in-law, Ann Bobic; her brother, Fred (Veronica) Gavalier; four grandchildren, Michael Bobic, Tracie (Dan) Roberts, Malyssa (Charles) Ward and Garrett Bobic; and five great-grandchildren, Jase, Cole, Jaime, Isabella and Spencer.

Along with her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Bobic, whom she married Oct. 18, 1952, and who died Feb. 16, 1996; and a son, Jerry Bobic, who passed away Jan. 24, 2001.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Kirila Funeral Home in Struthers and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Christ Community Church in Campbell, followed by a service starting at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
