Mark A. Popovich 1966-2026
BOARDMAN — Mark Anthony Popovich, 59, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, surrounded by his family after a courageous and private three-year battle with cancer.
He was aborn in Youngstown on Nov. 16, 1966, to John and Barbara Popovich. Mark graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1985 and attended Youngstown State University.
Mark worked in the beverage industry for over 35 years, most recently for Milo’s Tea. He also spent countless evenings and weekends working construction, a craft he loved and excelled at since he was young.
When Mark wasn’t working, he found peace and happiness at Conneaut Lake, Pa. The lake was his sanctuary, a place where he could boat and spend long, easy days with family, lifelong friends, and his grandpups, Sophie and Scottie. He also cherished time spent restoring his high school car, a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle, a project that reflected both his skill and joy of working with his hands.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Popovich.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mia; his daughter, Rachel of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her fiance, Benjamin Meure; his father, John Popovich of Canfield; and his brothers, Steven (Joyce) Popovich, of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, and Craig Popovich of Canfield.
There will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
The family asks that any memorial donations be made in Mark’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family would like to thank Milo’s Tea and all of Mark’s sales team members for their unwavering support, UPMC Hillman Hospital for his care, and lifelong friend Paula for her love and guidance throughout our journey.
