Margaret D. Babik 1931-2026

Margaret was born May 14, 1931, in Campbell, daughter of the late Michael and Martha Senda Zakucia.

She was a graduate of East High School and later worked in sales for Komara Jewelers for 27 years.

She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas Church, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

She enjoyed golfing with the GCU League and the PYBS Golf League. She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol Wreath #54 and the Jednota Society.

Margaret is survived by her children, Elaine (Charles) Ernst, Steven (Betty Erbach) Babik and Robert (Michelle Ferraro) Babik; her grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Ernst, Matthew Ernst, Amy (Raul) Rosario, Steven Ernst, Jeffery (Heidi) Babik and Ryan Babik; and her great-grandchildren, William Ernst, Woods Babik and Ona Bailey Babik.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Babik, whom she married June 27, 1953; he died Feb. 2, 1989; her brother, Thomas Zakucia; her sister, Helen Jean Popovich; and a granddaughter, Kristin Babik.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., Struthers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for church.

Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Lowellville, OH 44436.

In place of flowers, donations can be made to Akron Children’s Hospital.
