Lois ‘Ginny’ Mailey 1925-2026
CANFIELD — Lois “Ginny” Mailey, 100, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at The Inn at Ironwood.
Born March 9, 1925, in New Castle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Huldah Perkins and Raymond Stevens.
She was a lifetime member of Mahoning Methodist Church, serving on the finance committee.
She was a 1943 graduate of Chaney High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She retired in 1978 after 32 years in the accounting department at Youngstown Sheet and Tube.
Ginny married John W. Mailey on July 10, 1950, and he passed away July 7, 1998.
Ginny was known for her strength and independence. In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing alongside her husband, and together they shared a love of traveling. She also took great pride in her gardening and yard work, which she continued to enjoy well into her 90s.
She leaves many beloved cousins, friends and her caretakers, Nancy Dixon, Charla Sontag, Dorothy Kyle, Patty Negro and Leslie McTique.
Services will be held at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 27. A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ginny will be laid to rest beside her husband in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Per her wishes, material contributions are suggested to a church of choice.
