Lillian Mangine 1929-2026

BOARDMAN — Lillian Mangine, 96, passed away peacefully late Tuesday evening, Jan. 27, 2026, at Briarfield Place, surrounded by love. She lived a long, full and meaningful life, marked by strength, independence and a deep devotion to her family.

Lillian was born Nov. 29, 1929, in Lowellville, one of six children of the late Mauro and Concetta Minetti Menichini.

A 1947 graduate of Lowellville High School, Lillian worked in her younger years at Pugh Brothers Jewelry.

On Oct. 17, 1953, Lillian married the love of her life, Patrick Mangine. The two shared almost 50 beautiful years of marriage until Patrick’s passing in 2002.

Together, Lillian and Patrick took pride in being the proud owners of the Penn-Ohio Sealing Company for 40 years, balancing work while lovingly raising her family. She was a proud example of strength, dedication and love.

Lillian was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Lowellville. She was known for her love of cooking, especially hosting cherished Sunday family dinners, and in her younger years she enjoyed dancing. She also loved shopping and took great joy in caring for her family. You could often find Lillian sitting on her front porch, taking in the little things in life.

Strong, independent and determined, Lillian stayed active until the end, riding her bike and exercising until the Friday before her passing. She truly inspired others with her dedication to staying healthy, proof that age doesn’t have to slow you down.

She was a proud grandma to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her endless happiness and laughter. Time spent with them, whether at family gatherings, spaghetti Sunday or just a normal day, were some of her most cherished moments. She took great pride in watching her family grow.

She is survived by her loving children, Patricia (Mac) Donatelli, Michael (Loraine) Mangine and David (Michelle) Mangine, all of Lowellville; her grandchildren, Dana (Chuck), Michael Jr. (Gina), Dean, Patrick, Emma (Nick), Maria (AJ), Chloe (Vinnie) and Mia; and by her great-grandchildren, Lily, Gio and Rose; along with her several nieces and nephews whom she spoke to regularly and cherished greatly.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe (Evelyn), Paul (Peg) and Robert (Jill) Menichini; and her sisters, Mary (Joe) Coppola and Ann (Hank) Pinter.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Eddie and Diane Reese and the entire staff at Briarfield Place for their compassionate care, as well as Dr. Buccino, Diane and Linda for their many years of support and kindness.

Friends and family will be received 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill St., Lowellville, OH 44436; and again on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to the time of prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
