Leilani was born July 18, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, a daughter of the late Virginia (Shirley) Meshot. She was a graduate of Ursuline High School and went on to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Youngstown State University.
Leilani dedicated her career to education as a teacher at the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School, where she ran the child care program for many years before retiring. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her kindness, warmth, strength and steady presence touched all who knew her.

Her family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in each generation.

A talented and passionate crafter, she found great joy in sewing, knitting and many other creative pursuits, often sharing her handmade gifts with those around her.
Above all, Leilani will be remembered as a devoted mother and wife whose love, gentle spirit and generosity will live on through her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
