John H. Guerriero 1932-2026
YOUNGSTOWN — John Henry Guerriero, 93, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2026.
He was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Masury, son of the late John and Marion Meyers Guerriero.
After attending South High School, John was drafted into the Army, serving during the Korean War, where he learned to repair vehicles, a trade that he used later in life.
Upon his discharge from the Army, John went to work in the transportation department of U.S. Steel Ohio Works, followed by working as a mechanic for Greenwood Chrysler, retiring in 1998.
John enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, growing roses, playing cards, sailing, water skiing, and tinkering and fixing things.
His wife, the former Dolores A. Wardle, whom he married July 14, 1951, passed away March 29, 2019.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, John R. (Jane) Guerriero, Rodney A. Guerriero, Robert B. Guerriero, Michael J. Guerriero and Michele L. Horn; sister, Cathy Heater; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Guerriero; daughters-in-law, Roberta Guerriero and Pam Guerriero; and son-in-law, Dana Horn.
Family and friends may call 12:30 to 2:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m.
He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in Lake Park Cemetery.
