Gretchen L. Roose 1962-2026

Gretchen was born July 21, 1962, in Youngstown, a daughter of Gerald D. and Norma J. Johnson Roose.

She was a 1980 graduate of Hubbard High School.

Gretchen worked in hospitality management after earning her degree from Kent State University. She then continued her passion for taking care of people by working in home health care, where she thought of her patients as family.

Gretchen was the heart of her family by staying in touch with all of her extended family and always taking the time to bring everyone together.

She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her mother, Norma J. Roose of Hubbard; her niece, Ryan Shamblin (Jason Williams) of Hubbard; two great-nieces, Valerie Shamblin and Gabrielle Beem; and a great-nephew, Aedan Shamblin.

She was preceded in death by her father; her son, Jason G. Roose; and sister, Holly A. Shamblin.

Gretchen will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
