Emaline B. Smith 1943-2026
CAMPBELL — Emaline Brogdon Smith, 82, departed this life at 7:02 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, following complications from a short illness.
She was born July 29, 1943, in Youngstown, the daughter of Morgan Brogdon and Willabelle Jones Harden. She was a 1961 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Emaline was employed with Needle’s Eye Christian Life Center for 50 years as a director. She also worked as a manager for Hills Department Store.
She was a member of Grace Evangelistic Temple, where she was in charge of the women’s department and enjoyed cooking for the sick and shut-ins.
She married George Maurice Smith Jr. on Nov. 2, 1963; he died July 22, 2008.
She leaves to mourn two sons, Brian (Sabrina) Smith of Titusville, Florida, and Sterling Brogdon Smith of Campbell; one daughter, Mrs. Stacey (HQ McKinney) Black of Orlando, Florida; one sister, Ms. Loretta Wells of Campbell; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eli Brogdon; and one sister, Ms. Eleanor Howell.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Grace Evangelistic Temple, with calling hours 11 a.m. to noon.
Burial will take place in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
