Deanna A. Vallos 1942-2026
BOARDMAN — Deanna A. Vallos, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.
Born Feb. 16, 1942, in Youngstown, Deanna was the daughter of James and Ethel Chaparas Vallos and was a lifelong member of the community she loved so dearly.
A devoted member of St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church, Deanna offered her time, talents and unwavering faith to her parish. She served as president of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and Pan Arcadian Federation and shared her faith as a Sunday school teacher.
Deeply proud of her Greek heritage, Deanna was known for her joyful spirit, her infectious laughter and the warmth she brought to every gathering of family and friends.
Deanna graduated from Boardman High School and attended Youngstown State University. She went on to work in the offices of U.S. Steel in both McDonald and Lorain. She also enjoyed assisting her mother with their shared passion for antiques.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister-in-law, Susan Vallos of Canfield; her beloved nephews, James (Amanda) Vallos, Steven (Lindsey) Vallos and Zachary (Allie) Vallos; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Theodore, Elizabeth, Lucianna, Cooper, Giulianna, Oliver and August; and her dear friend, Irene Tunanides.
Besides her parents, Deanna was preceded in death by her brother, William Vallos.
Family and friends may call 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church, with a funeral service to follow.
The family has requested that memorial gifts please be sent to St. John Ladies Philoptochos.
