Ann Marie Metzinger 1930-2026
CANFIELD — Ann Marie Metzinger, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at the Inn at Walker Mill.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1930, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Maurice and Dorothy Money Arkwright, and was a lifelong area resident.
After graduating from South High School in 1948, she married the love of her life, Bob Metzinger, April 29, 1950.
She enjoyed reading and watching football.
Ann volunteered at Saint Patrick School and Ursuline Kindergarten, she also worked as an aid at Leonard Kurtz, and Head Start.
Ann leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Chrysann (Michael) Mitzel, Dortheann Metzinger; and son, Edward (Laurie) Metzinger. Her grandchildren, Amanda Mitzel, Adam (Cindy) Mitzel, Amelia (Michael) Lower and Jordan, Aaron, Anthony, Blake (Staci) Greene; and her great-grandchildren, Vincent, Emerson, Alexander, Anna, Dylan and Colby.
Besides her parents, Ann Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, who passed in September of 2019, after 69 years of marriage.
A special thanks to the staff of Journeys at The Inn at Walker Mill and Ohio Living Hospice, for the tender loving care they provided.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at the Fox Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday Jan. 9, 2026, at Saint Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown OH. 44507.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery.
Friends are all welcome to attend and offer condolence at the mercy lunch, immediately after mass in Saint Patrick’s Church Hall.
