Angela Agostinelli 1948-2026

CANFIELD — Angela Agostinelli, 77, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at her home.

She was born July 29, 1948, in Pacentro, in the province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, the third child to the late Pierino and Laura Restaino Serafini.

In her younger years, Angela spent time with her father in his tailoring shop in Italy, where she developed her passion for sewing. At the age of 15, Angela left Italy and immigrated to Patterson, New Jersey. She later settled in the Youngstown area after meeting her devoted, late husband, Luigi, also from Pacentro, whom she married on July 20, 1968.

Angela was a homemaker and previously worked as a cook at The Fireplace and other kitchens in the Youngstown area.

She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Pacentrani Club. Angela loved bringing family and friends together through her cooking and baking. She found joy in crocheting and sewing, frequently creating gifts for others. As the true matriarch of her family, she always made her loved ones her priority. She was proud to maintain lifelong friendships from all around the world while effortlessly forming new ones with her sweet personality and exceptional kindness.

She leaves behind her two loving children, Carlo Agostinelli of Columbus and Susanne Agostinelli of Poland; the joys of her life, her two grandchildren, Vincent Agostinelli and Augusta Fox; and her younger sister, Norma Brooks of McDonald. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Fiorella Serafini of San Demetrio, Italy; Virginia Nepi of Pacentro, Italy; and Gemma Catalano of Poland; and brothers-in-law, Bruno Cannella of Navarre, Florida; and Rich Brooks of McDonald; as well as many nephews and nieces, including their families.

Besides her parents and husband, Angela was preceded in death by her brother, Vittorio Serafini; sister, Amelia Cannella; parents-in-law, Carlo and Anna Battaglini Agostinelli; and brothers-in-law, Tony Agostinelli, Igino Nepi and Frank Catalano.

The family will receive relatives and friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.

A prayer service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman.

Entombment will take place in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
