Alice Jean Lightbody 1937-2026

Born May 4, 1937, in Youngstown, Alice was the daughter of the late Mildred Kaulis Eby and Leonard Eby.

She married Robert E. Lightbody on Oct. 6, 1956, in Youngstown. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2004.

Alice is survived by her three beloved children, Rob (Holly Bloom), Douglas (Diane) and Jennifer Lightbody. In addition to her children, she is survived by her five grandchildren, Kaya Holt (Alexis), John, Julia, Andrew and R. Evan. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Maya. In addition, she leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Her family and friends will miss her thoughtfulness, generosity, and adventurous spirit. A gracious hostess of countless parties and gatherings, Alice loved baking, crafts, flower arranging and sewing. She was an avid reader and a lifelong learner. Alice will be remembered for her compassion and fearless protection of those she loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to either Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley or your local food bank.

Family and friends may call at the Ferfolia Funeral Home, 356 W. Aurora Road (state Route 82), Sagamore Hills, to celebrate Alice’s life, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
