Sandra J. Vrabel 1941-2025

JEFFERSON — Sandra Jean Zuber Vrabel, 84, formerly of Campbell, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at Jefferson Healthcare Center, where she briefly resided. Previously, she made her home in Madison with her daughter, Sandi, where much fun was had and many laughs were shared.

Sandra, who preferred to be called Sandy, was the oldest of three girls. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1959. Sandy went on to work at the former Northside Hospital in Youngstown as a medical secretary until her marriage to William “Bill” Vrabel on Feb. 13, 1971. It was a beautiful day with a blizzard nobody forgot.

Once married, Sandy stayed home to raise her children and created a beautiful home for her family. When her girls were older, she went to work as the librarian at St. Joseph the Provider School in Campbell, a job she truly enjoyed.

Sandy loved to color, going out to eat at various restaurants with her beloved Bill, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching “Jeopardy,” “Wheel of Fortune,” and various sitcoms and Westerns.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Vrabel, and her parents, Vasil and Mildred Zuber.

She will be missed by her daughters, Leigh Anne (Dean) Focareta and Sandi (Alan) Carroll, and her sisters, Darlene Litch and Mary Ann (Michael) Volovar. Sandy leaves three granddaughters, Emily (Emilio) Valle, Allison Carroll and Evie Carroll; as well as two grandsons, Dorian Focareta and Thomas Carroll; and several precious nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call 2 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland. A service will follow at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family is requesting that material tributes take the form of contributions to Bella Care Hospice at www.celebratelife-foundation.net; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate, in memory of Sandy.
